One of the most challenging aspects of orthopaedic and plastic surgery is the complex management of hand trauma. This concise, pocket sized book is an excellent introduction in the management if these injuries commonly seen in the emergency department. I would recommend this book to any medical student or surgical trainee as it provides concise and succinct details on the management of the common hand trauma cases.

5 Stars! An excellent read.

This book is a guide to the safe and effective immediate management of patients presenting to A&E with a trauma to the limbs requiring surgery. This book covers immediate management of trauma as well as other common emergencies and ward problems seen in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The Plastic Surgery Survival Guide to Trauma is written by junior plastic surgeons for the junior doctor and tells him or her exactly what they need to know and do when they are faced with a patient requiring immediate treatment in the plastic surgery field. This book will give the new plastic surgeon or junior A&E and trauma doctors the knowledge at the start of the job that up until now could only be acquired ‘on the job’.

It is particularly aimed at the junior doctor new to plastic surgery but is also relevant to junior doctors within the General Practice, Emergency Medicine and Orthopaedics and Trauma specialties.
